Come and discover the many features of SPOT, the new website for Science Science in the Mountains Open to All, all day long at the Mont Blanc Observatory.
With demonstrations of participatory science programs, SPOT navigation, meetings with researchers and ambassadors from the world of art and sport, this will be an opportunity to immerse yourself in the day-to-day work of the team. We look forward to seeing you at the Mont Blanc Observatory!
Program of the day
Several highlights will punctuate the day. Here’s the program:
10:00 am: Welcome and opening of stands
11:00am – 11:30am: Opening speech by Hervé Villard, vice-president for ecological and energy transition at the Communauté de Communes de la Vallée de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.
12:30 – 13:10: Science Sandwich conference – How can we scientifically analyze data collected by non-scientists? Example of the Compte-Ponte program for monitoring red-legged frogs in the mountains. Take your sandwich, coffee and dessert are provided by CREA.
2:00 – 2:30 pm: meeting and open discussion with our SPOT ambassadors
3:00-3:30 pm: participatory workshop on the Wild Mont-Blanc project, identifying the valley’s wildlife.
Come and meet us from 10am onwards at the project presentation stands, which will be open continuously until 4pm.
